Tsinandali Estate · Kakheti, Georgia · September 2027
Raziyeh & Reed
A celebration of marriage in the heart of Georgia’s wine country during the autumn Rtveli harvest
The Gathering
Where the Caucasus Mountains Meet the Alazani Valley
Each September, the vineyards of Kakheti come alive for Rtveli—the centuries-old Georgian autumn grape harvest. It is a season of late-summer warmth, long tables under the trees, and shared toasts to family, friendship, and new beginnings.
We are overjoyed to invite our family and dearest friends from across the world to gather with us at Shumi Estate and the historic Tsinandali Estate for a multi-day celebration of love, heritage, and togetherness.
The Celebrations & Venues
Two Historic Estates in the Village of Tsinandali
Our celebrations unfold across two neighboring historic wine estates in Tsinandali—beginning with an intimate welcome feast at Shumi Estate and continuing onto the 19th-century parkland and open-air amphitheater of Tsinandali Estate.
Shumi Estate & Winery
We kick off the weekend next door at Shumi Estate, located directly alongside the historic Tsinandali park on royal Kakhetian grounds once belonging to Prince Alexander Chavchavadze.
Beneath illuminated timber verandas, cypress trees, and clay qvevri amphorae overlooking Georgia’s largest private collection of over 400 indigenous grape varieties, we will welcome everyone to Kakheti with wood-fired Georgian dishes, warm shoti bread from the brick tone oven, and estate Saperavi wines.
Outdoors in the 19th-Century Park
Once the ancestral residence of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, the Tsinandali Estate sits within eighteen hectares of historic botanical gardens overlooking the Alazani River valley and the Greater Caucasus peaks.
Surrounded by towering plane trees, cypresses, and autumn vineyards, we will gather outdoors on the estate lawn to exchange vows and celebrate the coming together of our families and cultures.
The Open-Air Amphitheater
As golden hour settles over Kakheti, our reception moves into Tsinandali’s architectural open-air amphitheater, crafted from aged Georgian brick, rough-hewn stone arches, and warm timber.
Beneath a canopy of greenery and evening lights, we will gather for a celebratory Georgian supra, heartfelt toasts, estate wines, and dancing under the open sky into the night.
September in Kakheti
The Season of Rtveli & 8,000 Years of Wine
Georgia is the birthplace of viticulture, where wine has been fermented in subterranean clay vessels called qvevri for over eight millennia. In Tsinandali, Prince Chavchavadze united this ancient Kakhetian craft with European winemaking in the 1830s.
